The Palmyra Township Board has placed on the August 4, 2026 Primary Ballot a Fire Department millage renewal. This millage is for the purpose of maintaining fire department operations. The millage is not a new millage for the construction of the new fire station. Funds for the construction of the fire station were allocated using the savings and investments.
The millage renewal is presented on the ballot as follows:
FIRE DEPARTMENT OPERATION
Shall the previously voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. VI of the Michigan Constitution on General Ad Valorem Taxes in Palmyra Township be renewed for said township by 1.00 mill ($1.00 per $1000 of taxable value) for the period of 2026 through 2029 inclusive for fire department operation; and shall the township levy such renewal in millage upon taxable Real and Personal Property within the township for said purpose, thereby raising in the first year an estimated $127,034?

The July 2026 special meeting of the Palmyra Township Board of Review will meet at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 6490 Palmyra Rd. Palmyra, MI.
The purpose of this meeting is to correct clerical errors; mutual mistakes of fact; and situations involving hardship exemptions, principal residence (homestead) exemptions, and qualified agricultural exemptions.
